Para español haga clic aquí. Dear neighbors, I’ve been thinking a lot about what I want this city to look like. Dreaming is probably the better word. I’ve been dreaming about what I want this city to look like. A recent trip to Albuquerque inspired me. It’s beautiful overall, but the infrastructure nerd in me was especially struck by how intentional they were about infusing Native American and Southwest design into nearly every piece of their built environment. It made me dream about what we could do here. Why not us? All we need is the will to make it happen. That’s why I’m excited that the administration has moved Nolensville Pike to the top of the Choose How You Move plan. If you remember, last year I was worried because Nolensville Pike was near the bottom of the list due to a number of challenges, including the fact that it’s a state-owned road. Fortunately, the administration and I were able to find a path forward and pass legislation to form a working committee to guide this project in the years ahead. And now, it looks like this working groups vision will come to life sooner than expected! I met with Kendra Abkowitz a few weeks ago, and she gave me an update on Nolensville Pike while I shared what I learned in Albuquerque. I’m grateful for how receptive she was. The working group will likely begin its efforts in January, and I’m excited to share more as the work moves forward. “It’s the dreamers, the misfits, and the rebels who change the world.” – Unknown
