Sandra moved to Nashville at 5 years old from Riverside, California and has lived in the district ever since. She grew up learning the value of hard work watching her mother work in a factory and her father take a job in a small plating company before becoming a pastor. A product of Metro public schools, Sandra attended Haywood Elementary, McMurry Middle, and Overton High School before enrolling at Trevecca Nazarene University where she worked two jobs to pay tuition and graduated with a degree in History and Political Science.

As a young professional from a working class family, Sandra understands the value of hard work and the transformative power of public education. District 30 is full of families just like Sandra’s and she wants to make sure everyone who lives here has the chance to succeed. She will fight everyday to make sure Nashville remains a growing and vibrant city with enough opportunity for all of us.
